I love receiving treats in the post, who doesn’t? A quick peruse of the #HappyMail or #HappyPost hashtags on Instagram will bring up a whole world of contented snail mailers, internet bargain hunters and their treasures.
If you have been following my blog for awhile, you’ll know how much I enjoyed receiving my Lucky Dip Club subscription box in the post each and every month.
A super-fun and colourful box filled with goodies designed by indie makers, the LDC was and still is, to this day the only subscription box I could ever commit to. Each month you could expect to receive unique pieces of jewellery, stationary, craft kits and more. And it was amazing.
So when LDC creator Leona took a break to focus on family life, I totally understood but felt sad to see it go. Whilst I over compensated by buying myself lots of fun post to receive in the mail as a substitute, it was never quite the same and I found myself wishing that box of happy back in my life.
As I mentioned in my May Favourites post, much to my elation the LDC came back earlier this year in a new and improved format. But since then there have been some exciting developments as LDC has grown to include an impressive three different subscription options!
For those of you not in the know, I will break down the new subscription offers before sharing what subscription I have and what I received in the post for the month of August.
Setting you back a mere £6.95, this subscription box includes one pair of seriously snazzy socks each and every month. These are completely exclusive and have been collaborated on with various artists.
For those on board the enamel pin band wagon, the Happy Pins subscription is an absolute must-have. At just £6 a month it’s also an absolute bargain. And, much like the socks, every pin is designed by a cool indie artist exclusively for the LDC.
This is the subscription I have (obviously) and features the monthly socks, pin and edition of Girl Planet. This box is a bargainous £10. How could you possibly lose?
When signing up for your desired subscription, there’s also a one-off joining fee of £6. You’ll get a really fun welcome pack with enamel pin, membership card and more.
That over and done with, let’s move on to the August box and what I got!
This box was a collaboration with Natelle Draws Stuff (you can find her Instagram here!) If you caught my post on pin swapping, you’ll know I’m a big fan of Natelle Draws Stuff so when I saw this collab I was super-excited and knew I would love the designs!
When the box arrived I wasn’t disappointed. Packaged in a super-colourful printed box, the subscription contained:
An extra freebie – a sweet little postcard featuring a cute sloth design and reminding us all to slow down.
A copy of Girl Planet magazine packed full of interesting and exciting features and articles.
An adorable sloth eating a rainbow enamel pin (cuuuute!)
And a pair of the most amazing socks you’ll ever see! These socks feature a playful scale design with hidden sloths on the heel, what’s not to love?
All in all I was extremely happy with my first combo box. For ten pounds it really is a complete bargain as you’re getting something unique and independently designed. I can’t wait to see what September and the following months will bring.
