A couple of weeks back (in November!) I turned 29. To celebrate becoming officially old I spent a rather over-the-top week having dinner with my family, drinks with my friends and taking a mini break to Paris. If you can’t over-indulge on your birthday, when can you?
Since then I have been non-stop busy with work, Christmas lunches, Christmas parties and life in general, so I haven’t had a lot of time to dedicate to blogging. I didn’t want the year to pass without me documenting my birthday in some way though, so today I thought I’d share with you some of the gifts I received on the big day.
Halloween is a little over a week away and the witching hour is almost upon us. What better way to celebrate the season than with a spot of spooky shopping? For todays Blogtober I’ve compiled a short but sweet list of goodies you may want to trick or treat yo’ self to.
Whilst most of us are still firmly in the Autumn mindset, planning for the spooky-season ahead and all the fun Halloween parties and events we’ll be attending, Lush is, as always, thinking ahead to Christmas. The full Christmas 2018 range dropped just a week or so after the Halloween range which I must admit does feel a little early!
The range this year is absolutely huge with loads of new and innovative products just crying out to be added to Christmas wish-lists. Despite all the newness I was really sad to see my old favourite, Magic of Christmas bubble bar wand knocked off the line-up. At this point in time I’ve tried quite a few of the new products but as the range is so extensive there’s still so many more baths to be had!
Here’s what I’ve picked up so far…
In my house it’s perpetually Autumn. I take a lot of decor inspiration from the great outdoors and as a fan of British wildlife, have a lot squirrel, fox, pheasant and deer-printed cushions and knick-knacks scattered about. The colour-palette of my living room is very warm featuring shades of brown, rust orange, green and copper.
Each year I like to add a few new pieces to the living room to keep it feeling fresh and interesting. I also dig out last years candles and put away my Spring/Summer scents. Today I thought I’d share a really small (but perfectly formed) Autumn homeware haul and explain how I personally like to decorate for the season.
If you have followed my blog for awhile you’ll know that I’m a bit of jewellery addict. I absolutely adore anything fun, quirky and themed – especially if it’s made from acrylic! My brooch collection is now pretty strong and I’m sure I have pieces to wear throughout Valentines Day, Easter, Halloween and Christmas! (And all of the little occasions in between.)
Each Autumn I refresh my collection with a few new key pieces. Last year I wrote a post on the pieces I picked up here! Today I thought I’d share the brooches and necklaces I have added to the collection this year.
During the Autumn and Winter months nothing makes me feel cosier than lighting candles – the warm glow and seasonal scents make home feel like a safe haven, protected from the wind and rain.
Every year in September I start my candle hunt in earnest. I love all the traditional ‘Autumnal’ type of scents – think cinnamon, gingerbread, toffee and pumpkin. And so whenever I’m in any kind of store that sells homewares, I keep my eyes peeled for candles that might tick the boxes. This year I managed to pick up some really lovely scents, so thought I would share them with you!
As a self-confessed bath bomb addict and bubble-bath dweller, I’m always on the look out for new bath-time treats. Living in the UK I’m lucky enough to have access to my all-time favourite store – Lush. Lush has amazing products and for that reason all of my bath bombs, shower gels, scrubs and shampoos come almost exclusively from there and I feel quite content with that. But there’s one store I have always desperately wanted to buy and try products from, and it’s one we definitely don’t have here in the UK – Bath and Body Works.
Up until very recently I have only been able to browse the Bath and Body Works website longingly, adding products to a basket I can never check out with before exiting the site and buying a consolation bath bomb from Lush. That was until a fellow blogger on Instagram pointed me in the direction of a very special Facebook group…
Every year as September rolls around I begin to eagerly anticipate the Lush Halloween range; the glittery pumpkin-shaped bubble bars and ghoulish bath bombs that appear in stores as the spooky season descends upon us.
This year I didn’t have long to wait, with the range dropping much earlier than previous years. Naturally I was in my local Lush, scooping up all the bath-time treats on the day of their release. And truth be told, what better way to kick start the season than with a big ole Lush haul?
When the Lush Kitchen closed its doors back in October I was a little bit heartbroken – better off financially yes, but heartbroken all the same.
You see, the Friday menu releases and the ensuing packages in the post that followed were oftentimes the highlights of my week, and without them my life has felt a teeny bit less exciting (and less gorgeously scented).
Lush Labs is in full swing now but I have to say, for me it has been a slow start; I haven’t yet purchased any of the exclusives simply because none of them have appealed to me in the way Lush Kitchen products did. That’s why, when the Lush Kitchen announced it would be releasing seven (one-off) exclusive shower gels I was probably more excited than is generally considered acceptable.
I was lucky enough to grab four of these exclusive shower gels so today I thought it would be fun (and a bit throw-back) to share my haul with you!
Every month I look forward to opening my Lucky Dip Club subscription box; filled with a fun printed pair of socks, enamel pin and mini zine it really does brighten my day.
Naturally I was eagerly anticipating the April box, but when it arrived I was absolutely blown away by how perfect it was – and very befitting of the season ahead. The plant/grow theme is my favourite by far and I can’t wait to show you everything that’s inside this ‘gram-worthy box.
It has been awhile now since I had a nose around a vintage/antiques fair. The last event I attended was back in December- you can read about my visit to Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair, Cambridge here.
Anyway, as I was scrolling through ‘what’s on St Neots’ lists online, I came across an event for an Antiques Fair being held a town over in Biggleswade. Not really knowing what to expect I figured I would give it a go – I’m so glad that we did as it was absolutely amazing!
Today I thought I would share with you a few of the wonderful pieces I picked up, as well as give you some info on the fair. It’s held monthly so is well worth a visit if you’re in the area!
It feels a little weird writing about Easter and even contemplating Spring when it’s snowing outside! But here we are, in the middle of March and once again the Lush Easter collection has rolled around. Today I thought I’d share with you my small haul for 2018!
Nothing gets me more excited for the season ahead than a new Lush release, and the Valentines range is one I always highly anticipate because I never fail to fall in love with the products.
When Lush dropped its’ 2018 Valentines range as pre-release online I knew I had to grab some goodies straight away! So whilst the range isn’t officially in store until the 12th of this month, I already have a selection of bath bombs and bubble bars to share with you today – how exciting! (more…)
Christmas has been and gone, and what a Lush Christmas it was. Between all the wonderful giftsets I received and the Boxing day sales, I am well and truly stocked up on bath time treats for the foreseeable future!
Today I thought I’d share with you the biggest Lush haul I have ever had the pleasure to write!
