Halloween is one of my favourite times of the year. I love any excuse to get dressed up and celebrate, but there’s something about the spooky-season that really appeals to me (probably all of the pumpkins everywhere!)
When I was a kid Trick or Treating wasn’t as big as it is today. I don’t think I ever went Trick or Treating at all – it was just something I read about or saw in the movies. But despite that my family and I always celebrated the day with home-cooked Halloween-themed dinners from my Mumchelle (sausage and mash can easily become fingers and brain…) and funny little games played out in the living room. And every single year without fail my mum would treat me to a couple of those fun Halloween Lucky Dip bags on the walk home from school. Even our local newsagents would get in on the action, with a Halloween display in the shop window. I have fond memories of popping in to buy a bag of crisps and coming away with plastic fangs and bats. I guess nostalgia plays a large part in why I love Halloween so much – it was just such a happy time for me!
One of my favourite things about Blogtober (besides celebrating the wonderful season that is Autumn) is reading all the fantastic blog posts floating about. There’s nothing nicer than scrolling through my reader and seeing all this new, fantastic content! I stumbled across Hollie’s Autumn tag the other day and throughly enjoyed reading it. Today I thought I’d give it a go myself!
There’s nothing nicer than coming home from a long day at work to discover a colourful Lucky Dip Club subscription box laying on my doormat – the fun enamel pin and funky matching socks never fail to brighten my day.
As the spooky-season is now upon us I have been eagerly awaiting and anticipating this months box, quietly hoping to myself that it would pay homage to Halloween.
Spoiler alert: it did not disappoint!
I adore Autumn. The gorgeous burgundy, mustard and rust coloured leaves, the cool, crisp air, conkers in the trees and fields full of pumpkins.
And it’s a great time of the year to get crafting too. With the cold, dark evenings I find I’m much less likely to venture out of the house, instead preferring a cosy night in. What better way to keep occupied than with a craft project?
I combined my love of Autumn and crafting to sit down and create an Autumn wreath to celebrate the change of seasons and hang proudly on my front door. Here I will share with you how to create you own – it’s a fun activity to keep you occupied on a rainy day!
As a self-confessed bath bomb addict and bubble-bath dweller, I’m always on the look out for new bath-time treats. Living in the UK I’m lucky enough to have access to my all-time favourite store – Lush. Lush has amazing products and for that reason all of my bath bombs, shower gels, scrubs and shampoos come almost exclusively from there and I feel quite content with that. But there’s one store I have always desperately wanted to buy and try products from, and it’s one we definitely don’t have here in the UK – Bath and Body Works.
Up until very recently I have only been able to browse the Bath and Body Works website longingly, adding products to a basket I can never check out with before exiting the site and buying a consolation bath bomb from Lush. That was until a fellow blogger on Instagram pointed me in the direction of a very special Facebook group…
September seemed to fly by in a haze of lazy Sunday mornings and woodland walks, endless cups of Pumpkin Spiced Lattes and warm bubble baths on chilly evenings.
October is here and with it comes Halloween, firework displays, toffee apples, dark mornings and of course, Blogtober.
